About His Artistic Practice
The Series: “Siste halmstrå” or "Grasp at straws"
In the series "Grasp at straws", we encounter a world on the brink of collapse – a reality marked by rapid change, information overload, and an ever-accelerating pace. The images depict vulnerable figures in a landscape filled with decay and chaos. The straw – a recurring motif – stands as a symbol of hope, of what is meaningful and valuable.
The dystopian cityscape, where nature struggles to reclaim the ruined, and toxic smoke clouds hang heavy in the air, expresses not only an ecological crisis. It also reflects a deeper societal unrest, where fundamental values such as trust and community are beginning to crumble.
